You can run a compiled Python from the compilation directory, before
installation.  This is the point at which you would want to know the
tests pass, before installing.

You could install over the top.  You could download the Windows zip
archive which gets extracted over the Windows normal Python
installation, line ending convert the lib files, and then copy them
over the top of your installation.
