My automatic build setup runs fine with the latest 2.7-slp. It executes

autoreconf -v # recreate configure ...
./configure ......

because I add some additional patches to configure.ac (libedit instead 
of libreadline). Therefore it seems to be sufficient to just run 
"autoreconf" to rebuild configure.
